      Our vegan nail colours are 82% plant-based, eco-friendly and 19-free. Unlike conventional nail polish, our nail colours do not contain 19 potentially harmful ingredients which we have replaced with alternatives that we believe are better.       Used as a solvent, butyl acetate dissolves the main non-soluble components of our formulas, allowing our nail colours to be evenly applied and evaporates upon application. It is manufactured from n-butanol and acetic acid – both of which come from fermented plant-based raw materials (e.g. sugar cane or cassava).

      Used as a solvent, ethyl acetate dissolves the main non-soluble components of our formulas, allowing our nail colours to be evenly applied and evaporates upon application. It is manufactured from ethanol and acetic acid – both of which are obtained from fermented plant-based raw materials such as sugar cane.

      Nitrocellulose is a film-forming polymer from modified cellulose fibre that gives the nail with a waterproof coating and ensures the adhesion of all of the formula's ingredients.       These three components produce a polymer which improves the film-forming properties of nitrocellulose and ensures the optimum texture. The components of this polymer are obtained from corn and wood fibre.

      Used as an emollient, acetyl tributyl citrate gives flexibility and durability to even the hardest and most fragile polymer-based films. Acetyl tributyl citrate prevents nail colors from chipping, scratching or wearing too quickly. This emollient is produced from citric acid, butanol and acetic acid.

      Ethanol can be obtained by the fermentation of sugar cane. In cosmetics it is most often used as a solvent. In conjunction with ethyl acetate and butyl acetate, ethanol ensures the complete solubility of all components as well as an even colouration.

      Stearalkonium bentonite is a modified clay mineral with three functions: stabilising both the emulsion's oily and aqueous components, creating a firmer texture as well as having antimicrobial properties. It is obtained by mixing the fine clay (bentonite) with a soaplike surfactant.

      A solvent with properties similar to alcohol, isopropyl alcohol mixes well with other solvents in the formula and helps to solubilise otherwise insoluble ingredients. This component can be obtained from fermented bioacetone.

      This solvent allows colours to really shine. Diacetone alcohol can be obtained from fermented bioacetone.

      An oil with antioxidant properties, tocopheryl acetate prevents changes to the colour, durability and texture of the nail colours, which can be affected by external factors like air, heat and sunlight. This ingredient is obtained from tocopherol, better known as vitamin E.

      Hexanal is an oil that strengthens the surface of the nail, making it less prone to breaking and allowing the colour to last longer. Hexanal is obtained from linoleic acid.

      A mineral powder used in dietary supplements such as calcium and magnesium, lithothamnion calcareum extract is obtained from red seaweed. It nourishes and strengthens nails, allowing colours to last longer.

      Obtained from mineral phosphorus ore, this inorganic acid regulates the formula's pH value. Phosphoric acid ensures the right level of acidity in the formula, so that it is compatible with the nail's pH value.

      Mannitol is a natural sugar that can be found in a variety of plants and vegetables. We use it because of its adhesive properties.

      A water soluble salt obtained from citrus fruits, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate strengthens nails and gives the formula an antioxidant effect.

      Trimethyl hydroxypentyl isobutyrate is an emollient that gives both flexibility and durability to even the hardest and most fragile polymer-based films. It is also a good and safe alternative to more frequently used emollients that may be potentially harmful to health.

      A solvent with properties similar to alcohol, propylene glycol combines well with both water and other more oily liquids. Propylene glycol can be produced synthetically or obtained by fermenting corn starch. In our water-based formula, it helps to dissolve components that are otherwise not easily solubilised. It also creates a firmer texture, which in turn allows the nail colour to be applied more easily.

      A solvent with properties similar to alcohol, pentylene glycol can be produced synthetically or obtained by fermenting plant sugars. Pentylene glycol has two important functions in our water-based formulas: to nourish and protect nails and, thanks to its antimicrobial properties, to extend the life of the nail colour.

      A chemical compound with antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, phenoxyethanol extends the life of our nail colours and prevents changes in colour, durability and texture, which can be affected by external factors like air, heat and sunlight. Synthetic phenoxyethanol is our preferred alternative to other preservatives, such as parabens.

      PPG-2 methyl ether dissolves single ingredients, which otherwise wouldn't mix well. Thanks to its emulsifying properties, it also helps to ensure a unified consistency. PPG-2 methyl ether can be produced both synthetically and naturally as bio-propanol.

      This polymer improves the film-forming qualities of the main acrylate polymer composition and ensures its long life and durability. The PEGs contained in the formula can be obtained naturally from bioethanol, while the other components are of synthetic origin.
