plantPRO Gel Nail System Application
This product is part of our plantPRO Gel Nail System. For optimum results and durability, we recommend using all of the associated products. Especially if you have no experience with gel nail polish, using the plantPRO system can still be a little unfamiliar. The durability and removal depend heavily on the individual nail condition and the procedure. With more experience, you will quickly develop a feel for the products, your nails and the best routine for you.
Step 1: Prepare your nails carefully.
Matt the top layer and also the tips, corners and edges of your nails with the Prep (240) side of the PRObuffer. Please make sure to use a grit size of 240 (or finer). For dry or brittle nails, we recommend matting the nail surface very lightly or even just the tip of the nail to make it easier to remove at the end. Then lightly moisten a cellulose pad with the Prep & Finish Cleaner and use it to clean your nails. Be careful not to apply too much cleaner liquid to the nail.
Step 2: Apply base coat.
Apply a very thin* layer of base coat by working it into the nail plate in a sliding motion. Start at the tip of the nail and make sure that the entire nail is covered and the surface is even. Seal the tip of the nail well too. Leave the base coat to harden under the PROlamp for 60 seconds.
Step 3: Apply colour.
Apply an even layer of colour and pay particular attention to sealing the tip of the nail. Leave the colour to harden under the PROlamp for 60 seconds. Repeat this process with a second coat of colour for more coverage, volume and optimum durability.
Step 4: Apply top coat.
Apply a layer of top coat and make sure that you also seal the tip of the nail well. Leave this coat to harden under the PROlamp for 90 seconds.
Step 5: And you’re done.
Clean your nails with a cellulose pad moistened with Prep & Finish Cleaner to remove the sticky layer*. We recommend waiting about a minute after the top coat has cured before carrying out this step.
Please note: If some product gets onto the cuticle during application, be sure to remove it before curing, for example with a manicure stick. If you have had the plantPRO manicure professionally applied in a salon, it is important to have it removed there too. As the studio mainly uses electronic tools to prepare the nail plate, this affects the adhesion to the nail and the gel nail polish is more difficult to remove.
*Too thick or uneven a layer of base coat can both favour early chipping and make removal more difficult.
**The sticky layer is created when the gel nail polish hardens and is necessary for the different layers to adhere. It should only be removed once the application is complete. Even when the polish is fully cured, it will still feel wet because of this layer.
