Our ingredients and product formulas.
We believe that Conscious Beauty is the future of beauty. So, when it comes to our ingredients, formulas and sustainability measures, we take our responsibilities seriously. Find out more about our product philosophy and our commitment to the planet.
Better is always the right choice.
We’re constantly looking for better and safer innovations that have as little impact on the environment as possible without compromising on efficacy. Therefore, our in-house Research and Development team in Germany makes sure that we stay at the forefront of natural, high-performance products.
We ensure that our labs develop formulas that maximise ingredients of natural origin while also delivering great performance at the same time. Our goal is to create completely natural formulas for all our products. Some of our products are already of 100% natural origin.
Out of respect for our planet and all living beings, our products are always vegan and PETA-approved.
We don’t meet standards, we set them.
The standards for our gitti formulas are strict. We believe in the quality, performance and safety of our products, which means we only use carefully selected ingredients. Our labs follow a strict list of “no-go” ingredients that are considered controversial or potentially harmful for the environment. This means we go a conscious step further, excluding even more from our formulas than the EU Cosmetics Regulation, which bans or restricts the use of around 1,700 ingredients.
Responsible beauty.
Our nail colours.
Our celebrated nail colours were our first innovation. For our plant-based colours, we use fermented biotech ingredients from plants, such as cassava, sugar cane, corn, and wheat, to create a unique, high-performance formula. Our water-based nail colours are odourless and community favourites.
Our nail colours are 23-free, meaning we’ve excluded 23 nail polish ingredients that have come under scrutiny for reasons of safety, irritability, sustainability, or are known to be problematic. We also never use animal-derived ingredients or petrochemical-based solvents.
Here are the 23 ingredients that we exclude from our nail colours:
We do not include ingredients in our 23-free list that wouldn't be found in nail polish anyway. Instead of listing individual ingredients from a chemical group to inflate the number, we name the entire group of ingredients.
